EPC Solar

Since April 2012 all properties being fitted with solar PV panels are required to have an EPC rating of at least a D grade if they are to qualify for the higher rate Feed in Tariff (FIT). Solar PV EPC surveys can take place before or after the installation. As the rating will be better with the panels in place, you may well want to wait and have the panels included in the Solar EPC, however before you place an order you want to be sure that the property will be capable of achieving that all important D grade.

When we carry out a Solar PV EPC survey we are happy to visit the property before the installation takes place, then you can delay lodging the report on the government database until after the panels are fitted. This means that we are able to tell you what your EPC rating would be currently. If you then tell us the size of your proposed system, we can also calculate and advise what your EPC rating will be after the installation.

Once the installation has taken place you simply need to provide us with a copy of the installers 'MCS certificate' and a photograph of the work. We will then add the system to the Solar PV EPC and lodge the report, giving you an accurate rating that reflects the improvements provided by your new solar panels. There is no additional charge for this service.
